Tom received Artificial Intelligence (AI) certification from IBM via its SkillsBuild education program. The course covered such areas as AI fundamentals, the Five Pillars of AI Ethics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and Future AI Trends. This exciting new field in technology will impact all industries, so this achievement gives Tom the opportunity to accurately present AI education and its benefits to his audiences.
Tom created IT By Design’s first-ever eBook. Titled “Tough Love”, it was a compilation of technology-related blogs that he ghostwrote for a senior executive and then compiled them by their appropriate category.
The company’s digital marketing team then created a drip campaign around the eBook.
Tom created an original concept/theme for IT By Design’s 2023 popular annual conference called “Build IT LIVE”. It’s the premier educational event of the year in the managed services provider (MSP) industry and has been designated a “Top 50” channel conference by a leading trade publication. It promotes the IT By Design brand name and generates a significant number of leads.
The concept centers on the valuable content that the conference distributes to attendees. In previous years, attendees had cited the content as the highlight of the show. Tom knew that today, popular content – especially that of an educational nature – is widely distributed via streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon, so his idea centered on that world.
Tom wrote a pitch outlining the concept/theme, including tagline, potential keynote speakers, etc. He then pitched it to company leadership. It was approved for the 2023 conference. The theme and graphics were highlighted in various pre- and post-conference marketing promotions.
For IT By Design, Tom created a “mini-podcast” video series curated from interviews conducted at the company’s popular annual education conference, called “Build IT LIVE”.
The CEO would interview conference attendees, asking questions about their experience at the conference or about lessons they learned at the event.
Tom made certain that each interview did not exceed five minutes and called the new series, “Build IT LIVE – Under Five”. The videos would then be used as social media posts, driving online engagement, or to promote the next conference, driving registration.
Tom Zanca’s Sci-Fi short script, “Standoff”, has received five awards to date:
“Standoff” is a 10-minute script that shows the influence the popular 1960’s Rod Serling TV series, Twilight Zone, had on Tom’s Film/TV writing career. The concept for the script came from the rash of news reports about the growing gene-editing abilities of scientists.
Logline: A distraught scientist known for advancing human gene editing decades ago holds his grandchildren hostage in a tense standoff with negotiators over the true implications of his work.
“True Stories” is an ebook series that Tom created for Konica Minolta when the company was looking for fresh ways to promote some of its key products. The ebook repurposes data that the company has already collected: product specifications and customer success stories.
“This way,” Tom explains, “Customers and prospects are not only getting important product specifications, but they’re also learning how some actual customers have used the product to their benefit — all in a simple, easily digestible ebook that’s about 10 to 15 pages long.” The company distributes the ebooks via digital marketing platforms, as giveaways at trade shows, etc.
Tom was part of a three-member team named a 2017 Konica Minolta Global Transform Award Finalist for a digital marketing campaign, “Driving Leads Through Marketing Automation”, by Konica Minolta, Inc. (KMI), the technology leader’s parent company. Tom was the writer for the successful campaign that generated leads for the company’s nationwide salesforce.
